The Midwest Center is a respected healthcare provider, fully accredited, 74-bed private, residential treatment facility with locations in Valparaiso and Kouts, IN. The Mental Health Technician (MHT) is a vital part of Midwest Center for Youth and Families’ treatment team. This is a full time, 40 hour per week position. Available schedules include every Sunday - Thursday ($2/hr schedule premium for this schedule) and every Tuesday - Saturday ($3/hr schedule premium for this schedule). There is a competitive shift differential for the evening, night, and weekend shifts. Midwest Center is accepting applications for individuals looking for a Per Diem / PRN position. PRN requires working 1 weekday and 1 weekend day per biweekly pay period.

As a Mental Health Health Technician, you will:
- Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment
- Implement elements of treatment plan and identified interventions to provide quality care
- Document and communicate client behaviors
- Follow clinical and unit programming
- Assist with patient groups and activities
- Provide DBT skills coaching with patients
- Maintain therapeutic boundaries and utilize crisis intervention techniques

Qualifications
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required; Associates degree or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
- One year of experience working in a psychiatric setting with patients aged 10-18yrs preferred
- College student who has obtained or are pursuing their degree in behavioral health, psychology, nursing or human services are preferred
