LEAD ADMISSIONS CLINICIAN

Mountain Youth Academy is nestled in Mountain City, Tennessee which is conveniently located near Johnson City, TN, Boone, NC, and Abingdon, VA. We are a 120-bed residential treatment facility and assist in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of a wide range of behavioral health issues for our young adolescent patients. 

We are seeking a meticulous and compassionate Lead Admissions Clinician that is license eligible for LCSW, LPC, or LMFT to join our team and play a vital role in guiding individuals and families through the admissions process. In this role, you will combine clinical expertise, sound judgement, and strong communication skills to help ensure every patient receives the right level of care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and evaluations of patients seeking behavioral health treatment.
• Determine the appropriateness of admission based on presenting symptoms, clinical needs, level of care, and available hospital services.
• Serve as a clinical resource for complex or high-risk referrals and admissions.
• Assist with coordination of referrals, transfers, and admissions to ensure continuity of care.
• Maintain accurate records in databases and filing systems.
• Schedule interviews, tours, assessments, or appointments as needed.
• Communicate admission decisions, next steps, and deadlines to applicants.
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure seamless onboarding/admission transitions.
• Provide excellent customer service to applicants, families, and referral sources.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
• Prepare reports and track admissions data as requested.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree required; Masters Degree preferred in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related behavioral health field required.
• Previous experience in admissions, customer service, healthcare, education, or administrative support preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
