As we continue and grow our geriatric psych program, we are searching for an experienced Exercise Physiologist to work with our senior patients. This is a PRN position with flexible hours.
We are looking for candidates with experience working with geriatric patients to help them build confidence and to improve their cardiovascular function, strength, flexibility, gait and overall physical health.
You will be responsible for:
- Conducting fitness assessments to evaluate patients' health and function
- Developing customized treatment plans to meet individual patient needs
- Teaching, coaching and guiding patients on daily exercises and activities to help improve lifestyle
- Documenting progress towards established goals
As this is a new position for us, you will have leeway to create a sustainable program that helps our patients on their journey to improved mental and physical health.
Qualifications
For this career level PRN position, you should possess:
- A bachelor's degree in exercise science or related field
- At least 2 years of experience as an exercise coach or personal trainer
- Certified Exercise Physiologist Certification (EP-C) is preferred as is experience in a hospital, nursing home or assisted living facility
