JOB SUMMARY:

Works with Surgery and Materials Management to maintain appropriate par stock levels of OR items; coordinates vendor.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Coordinates and maintains appropriate par stock levels of OR items. All records regarding additions and deletions to stock items are kept current. 

1. Communicates and serves in an advisory capacity to OR for supply needs.
2. Reviews the open order file for overdue shipments and backorders.
3. Maintains orderly placement of supplies and existing inventory.
4. Establishes appropriate par stock levels and reorder points based on minimum/maximum supply utilization. makes adjustments as required.

1. Coordinates vendor supply ordering.
2. Establishes and adheres to vendor ordering calendar.
3. Establishes and adjusts changes to par stock levels.
4. Demonstrates utilization and support of UHS contracts.
5. Reviews purchasing systems for order and delivery information.
6. Communicates OR needs to vendors and works collaboratively with service leaders to hold vendors accountable for accurate inventory.

1. Responsible for oversight, consolidation, controlling and accurate reporting of supply inventory.
2. Assists in the physical inventory of supply items in the OR.
3. Works collaboratively with OR staff and vendors to identify and prevent outdates (supply cost/waste).
4. Assists in tracking equipment utilization, repairs, and orders.
5. Works with service leaders to establish a replacement equipment plan and purchase plan to meet the needs of the surgeons.

1. Responsible for promoting and participation in the achievement of the goals and objectives of the OR. Maintains a position of trust, confidence and respect.

1. Keeps the OR Director/Manager informed of current activities and any major discrepancies with vendors or interdepartmental supply/equipment issues.
2. In addition to OR assignments, will inventory, stock and maintain supply and equipment inventory in collaboration with the OR Distribution Technician. 

1. Will track vendor orders in the purchasing system to ensure timely request and delivery for scheduled cases.
2. Works collaboratively with service leaders and charge coordinator to update preference sheets (pick sheets).
3. Provides feedback to staff regarding supply utilization and ordering methods.
