Milieu Supervisor
8am - 5pm, Monday - Friday

The Milieu Supervisor will be responsible for the oversite and management of all MHT-1, MHT-2, Staffing Coordinators, and Unit Coordinators. The Milieu Supervisor will be responsible for facilitating all interviews, hiring, and education for these positions. The staff will provide oversite to all units to assure there is a safe environment, appropriate staffing, documentation is completed, appropriate programming and groups, and assure all hospital policies are being followed. This position will report directly to the Chief Nursing Officer for guidance and changes in schedules to assure appropriate staff and training is completed for all these positions to best meet the needs of the hospital.

The Milieu Supervisor will be responsible for the oversite and management of all MHT-1, MHT-2, Staffing Coordinators, and Unit Coordinators. The Milieu Supervisor will be responsible for facilitating all interviews, hiring, and education for these positions. Qualifications
- Oversees operation of the milieu in assigned units to ensure safe and therapeutic environment
- Makes routine rounds to all units throughout the shift to ensure open communication is maintained and operations are completed thoroughly and follow appropriate productivity measures.
- Works in conjunction with the scheduler, nurse manager, and nurse supervisors to provide appropriate staffing.
- Participates in interview and hiring process for MHT positions.
- Conducts performance evaluations on assigned employees in a timely manner.
- In conjunction with Human Resources and direct supervisor, assists with disciplinary actions as necessary.
- Participates in department orientation and training of new MHTs. Facilitates continuing education and development of MHT staff.
- Monitors the consistent implementation of individual treatment plan interventions by MHTs.
- Milieu Supervision: Acts as a role model for mental health technicians demonstrating effective problem solving and decision-making skills. Ensures that MHTs provide patients with opportunities to learn and practice appropriate hygiene and self-help skills and are aware of rules and expectations. Effectively intervenes and provides leadership during crisis situations. Keeps the CNO and other managers on the clinical team informed of issues. Provides oversite that all recreational and therapeutic activities for patients are done. Acts as a liaison between management and MHT staff. Participates in quality improvement initiatives. Maintains knowledge of policies and procedures and keeps up to date with changes. Performs other duties as assigned by management.
