Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of floors, restrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas using appropriate cleaning tools and supplies
- Conduct routine custodial tasks such as dusting, trash removal, window washing, and disinfecting high-touch surfaces
- Operate floor care equipment including buffers and polishers to maintain shiny, safe flooring
- Assist with industrial cleaning projects or specialized cleaning tasks as needed to uphold safety standards
- Support facilities maintenance by reporting repairs or safety hazards promptly to the appropriate teams
- Maintain cleanliness in kitchen and break areas by sanitizing surfaces and restocking supplies
- Follow established safety protocols during all cleaning activities to ensure a hazard-free environment
- Keep detailed logs of cleaning schedules and completed tasks for accountability and quality assurance
Qualifications
- Proven janitorial or custodial experience in commercial, industrial, or residential settings
- Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, floor care procedures, and use of custodial equipment such as buffers and vacuums
- Experience with industrial cleaning methods or facilities maintenance is highly desirable
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of cleanliness
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure thoroughness in all tasks
- Physical stamina to stand, bend, lift, and perform cleaning duties for extended periods
- Good communication skills for reporting issues or safety concerns effectively
Nice-to-have skills include residential painting experience, porter experience in hospitality or commercial settings, proficiency in facilities maintenance tasks, and familiarity with commercial cleaning products.
