Summary: The Carpenter position at UGA Skidaway Institute of Oceanography (SkIO) is a full-time, 40-hour/week, professional, benefited staff position. Performs skilled work in the construction, repair, and maintenance of wooden and wood substitute items and structures. Also, performs duties in the general repair and maintenance of buildings and other university facilities. Must have strong customer service skills, and ability to work independently with little supervision. Full carpentry shop onsite. Position located on Skidaway Island, Savannah campus.

About the department: The University of Georgia’s Skidaway Institute of Oceanography (SkIO) founded in 1968 is a multidisciplinary research and training institution located on a 700-acre campus on Skidaway Island near Savannah. The Institute’s primary goals are to further understanding of marine and environmental sciences, conduct leading edge research on marine and coastal systems, and train tomorrow’s scientists.
