UFP Ventures - Senior Associate - Finance & Investments

Job Summary

The Senior Associate, Finance & Investments will serve as the financial and execution backbone of UFP Ventures. The role supports the full investment lifecycle, including opportunity evaluation, financial modeling, due diligence, Investment Committee preparation, transaction execution, portfolio reporting, valuation, and performance analysis. The Senior Associate will also help establish scalable, AI-enabled processes that allow a lean investment team to operate effectively.

Location: Grand Rapids, Detroit, Philadelphia, or St. Louis preferred.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

• Financial due diligence to support the UFP investment process; find market comps, and support deal execution
• Support Principals in deal flow process to include: sourcing/direct outreach to prospective investments, screening and evaluating, CRM management, and due diligence
• Build financial models to assess valuation and forecast financial returns of investments
• Develop and maintain AI-enabled workflows, templates, and documented processes that improve the speed, consistency, and quality of investment research, diligence, portfolio reporting, and team operations
• Work directly with portfolio companies, as needed, to support their financial, accounting, hiring, manufacturing, and/or sales operations
• Proactively identify emerging financial distress and performance risks across portfolio companies through financial reviews, standardized reporting, and ad hoc analysis
• Perform portfolio financial valuation semi-annually
• Coordinate all processes with the UFP financial department to include closing deals, collecting legal fee reimbursements, and reporting on an ongoing basis
• Manage the investment committee workflow
• Support M&A financial diligence, as needed
  
  

Qualifications

• BA in Business, Finance, Bachelor of Science in Engineering, or related technical science
• English language fluency is mandatory. Other languages are desirable
• At least 3 years of experience in ventures, entrepreneurship, M&A, finance, and/or strategy
• Demonstrated experience building complex financial models and analyzing investment opportunities
• Technical, commercial, innovation, and/or sales experience in construction a plus
• Effectively and regularly communicate business performance and status to senior management
