Job Summary
The Consignment Specialist is responsible for coordinating and scheduling consignment loads according to customer requests in compliance with DOT regulations and company rules. Works directly with UFP Transportation.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Update and generate daily reports
- Schedule consignment loads with UFP Transportation and maintain communication with carriers as needed
- Maintain load schedules for shipping department
- Work with customers on any inventory discrepancies
- Confirm load schedules and deliveries
- Perform routine data entry
- Review documents and ensure proper format
- Prepare, process, update, and compile routine documents, records, and reports
- Prepare routine correspondence, reports, and other documents
- Crosstrain in different departmental areas
- Other duties as required
Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Minimum 2 to 4 years of experience in the field or related area 5 years preferred.
- Working knowledge of standard DOT concepts, regulations, practices and procedures.
- Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Basic knowledge on lumber math, lumber grades and species.
- Preferred understanding on company policies, practices and procedures.
