UF Information Technology (UFIT) is currently seeking a professional-level Infrastructure Platform Engineer to join Infrastructure and Communication Technology (ICT) a unit within UFIT.
This position is within the Artificial Intelligence & Platform Engineering team which is tasked with providing artificial intelligence capabilities and building platforms while ensuring high availability and reliability of campus services. Competitive candidates will be self-motivated, organized, and eager to learn with outstanding communication skills. You will work on projects that span across enterprise deployments and be exposed to new technologies and tools.
UF Information Technology (UFIT) enables teaching, learning, research, and service on campus and across the region with state-of-the-art enterprise IT systems, including SEC and SUS universities, and the opportunity to teach using HiPerGator.

- Enterprise level experience managing virtual machines, Kubernetes clusters, and container workloads in hybrid environments.
- Enterprise level experience managing and deploying cloud resources in at least one of the major cloud providers (i.e. Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
- Advanced experience in installing, managing, updating, and troubleshooting Linux and Windows-based systems and applications.
- Advanced experience leveraging observability tools for logs, metrics, and traces to monitor systems and applications.
- Advanced experience with relational database platforms such as PostgreSQL.
- Expertise in configuration management tools such as ansible, puppet, and chef
- Expertise in orchestration tools such as Terraform.
- Expertise in scripting/programming languages such as Python and Golang.
- Expertise in Rest API scripting and automation.
- Expertise in using source/version control platforms such as Gitlab, GitHub.
- Expertise in building automation pipelines using GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins.
- Familiarity with leading Generative AI models such as Llama, GPT, Claude, and Gemini .
- Familiarity with creating and leveraging AI agents in process automation and improvement is a plus.
