Job Description
UF Information Technology (UFIT) is currently seeking an entry-level Desktop Support Specialist to join Academic Technology, a unit within UFIT. The UFIT Help Desk is a fully staffed call center that provides IT support to the entire campus.
UF Information Technology (UFIT) enables teaching, learning, research, and service on campus and across the region with state-of-the-art enterprise IT systems, including SEC and SUS universities, and the opportunity to teach using HiPerGator.
Employment with UFIT provides an excellent opportunity to work with other employees dedicated and focused on understanding and interpreting the technological needs of the University of Florida’s innovative and inspirational community.

Led by Senior Vice President and CIO Elias Eldayrie, the nine departments comprising UFIT are: Academic Technology; AI² Center; Applications, Development, and Integrations; Business Center; Customer Experience and Resource Planning; Data Platform and Analytics; Information Security Office; Infrastructure and Communication Technology; and Research Computing. - Assists end users with getting set up on supported equipment and software
- Assist with inventory
- Familiarizing end-users with how to use the equipment and software
- Assists end users with resolving software issues pertaining to supported software
- Installs and moves computers, printers, and other end-user technology devices, including installing designated system images and application software
- Troubleshoots and resolves entry-level problems and provides entry-level maintenance for computers, printers, and other end-user technology devices
