- Serve as the lead clinician on an ALS Critical Care ground ambulance
- Perform advanced life support and critical care interventions for interfacility patients
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, triage, treatment, and evaluation during transport
- Practice with a high degree of clinical autonomy while following established medical protocols
- Document the full clinical process accurately in the patient care record
- Supervise and evaluate assigned drivers, ensuring safe transport operations
- Act as a clinical resource and mentor to team members, sharing expertise and best practices
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, hospital teams, and external partners
- Participate in community outreach and education initiatives
- Uphold and advance the mission, values, and safety standards of Shands Healthcare/ShandsCair
✅ Required Qualifications
- Florida-licensed EMT-Paramedic (current and in good standing)
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS required upon hire
- Minimum 2 years of pre-hospital Paramedic experience
- Valid Florida Driver’s License
- Completion of a Florida-approved EVOC driving course
- ITLS or PHTLS (preferred at hire; required within 1 year)
- CCEMT-P, UFCCP, FP-C, and NRP (preferred; required within 1 year)
- Experience in critical care transport
- Instructor status in EMS certifications
