Responsibilities:In this role the Medical Laboratory Assistant will perform the following job duties:
- Perform skin punctures to obtain blood specimens for laboratory testing.
- Prompt accurate processing of test requisitions, accurate charging, registering and ordering tests for outpatients, informing techs of stats and other timed or urgent testing.
- Telephone patients, physicians and nursing units when required.
- Maintain neat and organized collection trays, collection areas and work areas.
- Expected to demonstrate logical, professional behaviors under demanding and stressful conditions.
Schedule
FTE .50
Hours: 3:00pm-11:00pm
Days: Saturday, Sunday, Monday
Qualifications:Education
Required: High school diploma or GED
Licensure/Certification/Registration
Preferred: Phlebotomy Certification
Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience
Required: Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
