HR Benefits Specialist, remote role within Florida

Overview

UF Health Human Resources is currently seeking a Benefits Specialist to join our team. This position is remote; candidate must reside within Florida.

The Benefits Specialist plays a key role in supporting various HR functions, including processing status changes such as promotions, demotions, and rate adjustments, as well as handling annual evaluations and benefit elections. This role is also responsible for data entry, assisting with educational assistance requests, and generating reports as needed.

In addition, the Benefits Specialist collaborates with leadership to support the development and enhancement of HR policies and procedures related to conditions of employment. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills and attention to detail, providing valuable support through report generation, demographic analysis, and research.

Responsibilities

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred but may be waived depending upon experience level Licensure/Certification/Registration
  
  

Experience required:

• 2 or more years of benefits administration experience such as health and welfare benefits, retirement, and voluntary benefit administration.
• Experience with benefits education such as new hire orientation and assisting employees with benefit questions.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications; particularly MS Excel for benefits reconciliation
• Demonstrated experience in high quality customer service, critical thinking, interpersonal skills (both oral and written), with poise, tact, and diplomacy.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English effectively and professionally
  
  

Experience preferred:

• 3 or more years of Human Resources experience within any HR discipline
• Healthcare experience
• PeopleSoft and or Workday experience
