What are the responsibilities and job description for the Regional Sales Manager - Technical Sales Specialist position at UE SYSTEMS?
Who We Are
At UE Systems we believe that every person regardless of their industry, company size, experience and budget should have the tools and support to help their facilities operate more efficiently, reliably, and safer. We do this by providing a portfolio of ultrasound solutions designed to be versatile and simple to use.
Since 1973 we’ve helped thousands of customers across the world prevent equipment failures, identify energy losses, and return home safe to their families and we are just getting started. Join us as we continue to grow to support our mission in the relentless pursuit of customer excellence.
About the Role
We are seeking a Hunter-minded Regional Manager who thinks like an owner, moves quickly, and thrives on opening new doors. This role is built for someone energized by creating opportunity where none existed before – identifying new markets, winning new customers and turning first conversations into long-term partnerships.
This role is ideal for you if you enjoy a traveling, field-based, customer-facing role. If you enjoy variety in your day to day and making a direct impact on the future of the company.
As the Regional Manager you will manage and grow a defined region by prospecting new logos, developing early-stage opportunities and establishing UE Systems as a trusted partner in both existing and emerging industries – while serving as the voice of the customer inside the organization.
Our People
They Own Their Day: We do not micro-manage. You are responsible for your region and the customers within it. Our team understands that some days may be longer while some may be shorter and that maintaining the right work-life balance is crucial in a non-traditional workday.
They Believe in a Team Approach: They can’t be a master of everything. We have built a team based on the culture fit which provided us with a diverse team of varying skillsets and experience. They rely on their team to support them and grow as an individual and as a team.
They Always Look Through a Customer Lens: Every decision we make is through the lens of our customers. We ask “what is the best decision for our customer” before any decision is made. We put our existing customers before revenue and do not use sale performance as a metric.
Responsibilities
Territory Ownership and Growth
- Build and execute a territory plan that grows pipeline, revenue, and long-term account value.
- Identify and pursue new customers through strategic outreach, partner activity, and industry presence.
- Manage opportunities end-to-end from discovery to close, including proposals, ROI justification, and forecasting.
- Maintain clean, actionable data in CRM (Microsoft Dynamics, and or HubSpot) and follow a disciplined cadence of activity.
Consultative Reliability Selling
- Lead discovery discussions with maintenance, reliability, operations, and EHS stakeholders to understand failure modes and business impact.
- Translate customer goals into a practical ultrasound program that improves uptime, reduces risk, and reduces energy waste.
- Position ultrasound within a broader PdM toolkit, collaborating effectively in environments that also use vibration, thermography, and oil analysis.
Demonstrations, Implementation, and Customer Success
- Run onsite evaluations, product demonstrations, and proof-of-value engagements in industrial environments.
- Deliver hands-on training for customer teams and channel partners, both onsite and virtual, to drive adoption and correct use.
- Guide implementation details such as route building, data collection routines, and basic reporting standards to make the program sustainable.
- Provide technical support on common ultrasound applications including compressed air and gas leak detection, bearing lubrication, electrical inspection, and mechanical condition monitoring.
Voice of the Customer and Internal Collaboration
- Share market insights, competitive feedback, and application learnings to inform marketing, services, and product development.
- Collaborate with global technical teams and communities of practice to standardize best practices and improve team performance.
Safety and Professionalism
- Follow customer site requirements and HSE practices at all times, including PPE and safe work procedures.
- Represent UE Systems with a professional, solutions-first approach in every customer interaction.
Qualifications
- 3 years sales experience
- Experience building and growing a territory or book of business in industrial markets, or equivalent consultative customer-facing experience.
- Strong foundation in maintenance and reliability concepts, including rotating equipment and common failure modes.
- Ability to deliver credible demonstrations and training that maintenance teams trust and adopt.
- Comfort working in industrial environments and traveling frequently throughout the region.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical value to both plant-floor and executive audiences.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
