Position Summary

The Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist evaluates and treats children with speech, language, social communication, fluency, voice, and feeding-related needs within the clinician's scope of practice. The SLP works closely with families and other professionals to improve communication and participation across daily environments.

Essential Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive speech, language, communication, and related pediatric evaluations.
• Develop individualized treatment plans with measurable, functional goals.
• Provide evidence-based speech-language therapy based on each child's clinical needs.
• Monitor progress and update goals, plans, and recommendations as appropriate.
• Educate parents and caregivers on communication strategies and home carryover activities.
• Collaborate with OTs, PTs, BCBAs, physicians, educators, and other care-team members.
• Complete accurate, timely, and payer-compliant evaluations, notes, and reports.
• Maintain all required licensure, certification, and continuing-education standards.

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Active and unrestricted Virginia Speech-Language Pathology license.
• Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP).
• Strong clinical, communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a pediatric outpatient setting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Two or more years of pediatric clinical experience.
• Experience in an outpatient pediatric clinic.
• Experience supporting children with autism, developmental language disorders, articulation needs, or social-communication differences.
• Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply.

Employment & Compensation

All therapist positions at UE Children's Services begin under the 1099 Independent Contractor model, with no exceptions. Every therapist is required to review and sign a one-year Independent Contractor Agreement when joining the organization.

Because our services are insurance-based, therapists must complete all required onboarding, credentialing, and payer enrollment before treating clients. Therapists will begin providing services after credentialing approval and will initially be compensated under the 1099 model based on services rendered.

1099 Independent Contractor – Required Starting Model:
The required starting model for every therapist. Compensation is based on services rendered, with scheduling developed around clinician availability, client needs, and clinic operations.

Pay-Per-Visit Model – Potential Future Option:
Compensation is based on each completed patient visit. This option may become available as caseloads, payer participation, and clinic operations continue to grow.

Hybrid Salary Model – Potential Future Option:
A structured base salary combined with productivity expectations and possible additional compensation. This option may become available based on organizational needs, performance, caseload, and mutual agreement.

Compensation models beyond the required initial 1099 arrangement are potential future options and are not guaranteed. Availability will depend on clinic growth, payer participation, caseload, performance, organizational needs, and mutual agreement.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
