This role blends deep technical expertise with strong business instincts. You’ll lead strategy, drive delivery, grow a talented team, and tell the story of how AI can create measurable, meaningful change.

What You’ll Do

You’ll lead the AI practice with vision and accountability across strategy, delivery, and growth. You will:

• Translate AI into business value. Help clients understand where AI fits, how it works, and what outcomes they can expect—turning technical depth into clear, compelling narratives.
• Drive strategy and execution. Lead engagements from scoping to delivery, ensuring every solution is right-sized, high-impact, and aligned to business goals.
• Lead and grow a strong team. Mentor and develop data scientists and engineers while shaping the future of UDig’s AI capabilities and standards.
• Shape pre-sales conversations. Partner with sales and client leads to scope new opportunities, craft proposals, and bring the right ideas to the table.
• Build the brand. Represent UDig’s AI perspective by creating thought leadership content, speaking at industry events, and helping elevate our voice in the market.
• Stay ahead of the curve. Keep tabs on emerging tech, tools, and ethical standards so UDig continues to bring smart, responsible AI thinking to clients.
• Build reusable tools and frameworks. Turn great ideas into repeatable accelerators that scale value across clients and teams.

What You Bring

You’re a rare blend of technologist, strategist, and trusted advisor. You bring:

• 10 years of experience in, or across data science, machine learning, or AI strategy and delivery
• 5 years of consulting experience
• Deep technical expertise in applied machine learning, computer vision, NLP, LLMs, VLMs and the data needed to run it.
• A strong sense of problem-solving—you know how to diagnose client needs, ask the right questions, and define a smart, scalable path forward
• A history of delivering measurable impact—increased efficiency, new capabilities, or data-driven decision-making
• Comfort leading complex, consultative conversations—you're credible in the room, curious in approach, and confident in guiding decisions
• Experience leading teams and growing technical capabilities with empathy and vision
• A collaborative mindset—you build trust easily and know how to partner across business, design, and engineering
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a quantitative field required. A Master’s or PhD in a related discipline is strongly preferred, especially with a focus in AI, Machine Learning, or Data Science. Equivalent experience leading AI initiatives and delivering business impact will also be considered.
