What are the responsibilities and job description for the QA Supervisor position at UDA - United Dairymen of Arizona?
The Quality Assurance Supervisor will ensure the highest level of food safety and quality is maintained, in compliance with HACCP and CCP standards, throughout UDAs food production, quality, and packaging facilities.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct Root cause analysis to identify and understand product quality defects and failures in the product process
Oversee quality surveillance of manufacturing areas within HACCP compliance
Conduct facility, tools, and equipment inspections and perform bacteriological environmental tests throughout plant areas
Develop quality and safety procedures and mentor plant staff to ensure optimal effectiveness
Regularly inspect production lines to identify and resolve quality issues
Coordinate in the monitoring of packaging lines for effective control of CPs and CCPs
Collaborate with the UDA sanitation team to validate sanitation effectiveness and environmental monitoring
Log, report, and take corrective action for all food safety and quality deficiencies
Conduct investigations and generate incident reports regarding food safety and quality
Keep detailed, accurate and legible records input data into document management systems
Collaborate with management to audit, monitor, and manage plant operations to ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP and SQF standards
Assist with all new hire training regarding GMPs and Food Safety awareness
Always maintain food safety and quality standards, resolving and/or reporting compliance issues immediately.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong understanding of microbiology and food quality standards
Strong knowledge of good manufacturing practices and HACCP
Team-player mentality with the ability to self-manage and prioritize time, tasks, and projects
Ability to lead multiple business initiatives in a manufacturing environment
Proficient computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and document control systems
Strong communication skills with the ability to discuss and generate business reports, business correspondence, and procedure documents
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year experience in supervisor role
Minimum of 3 years working in a plant or manufacturing environment
Minimum of 3 years dairy or food and beverage industry experience
Education/Certifications:
Bachelors degree in an applicable science discipline or equivalent experience
HACCP Certification preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Requires ability to walk and stand for 12 or more hours at a time
Requires ability to stoop, bend, reach, lift and carry items up to 55lbs.
Requires ability to climb ladders and stairs of various heights occasionally including floors of 100ft or more, with appropriate fall protection PPE
Requires ability to visually observe the condition of surroundings.
Requires ability to work in varying extreme hot, cold, and wet temperatures and conditions
Requires ability to hear and speak, occasionally in high time weighted average environments with elevated decibel readings (using appropriate hearing protection)
Salary : $70,000 - $75,000
