The CNC Operator/Programmer is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC vertical mills and lathes to manufacture a wide variety of precision components. This role supports a high-mix, low-volume production environment with aluminum, stainless steel, carbon steel, and plastics of various shapes and sizes. The ideal candidate is experienced in CNC programming, proactive in optimizing workflows, and able to contribute to fixture design and continuous process improvements.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC vertical mills and lathes
- Program automated CNC equipment for single-step or multi-step production processes
- Create and adjust CNC programs, primarily using Mastercam
- Design and collaborate with engineering on custom fixtures for improved efficiency
- Read and interpret blueprints, and engineering drawings
- Perform tool changes, offsets, and adjustments to maintain part quality
- Inspect parts using advanced precision measuring equipment
- Maintain accurate production documentation and follow written/verbal instructions
- Troubleshoot programming, equipment, and process issues to minimize downtime
- Perform routine maintenance and monitor coolant, tooling wear, and machine performance
- Follow all safety and quality standards to ensure a clean, safe work area
Qualifications Preferred
- CNC mill programming and setup experience required
- Knowledge of programming languages FANUC, G-Code, and M-Code
- Minimum 5 years CNC mill machinist experience preferred
- Mastercam experience preferred
- Knowledge of Fadal and FlexDrill equipment preferred
- 4th & 5th axis machining experience preferred
- Strong math skills (decimals and fractions)
- Skilled in the use of standard machinist measurement tools
- Ability to complete tasks independently with strong attention to detail
- Ability to stand 100% of the shift
- Frequent twisting, turning, bending, climbing, reaching, pushing, and pulling
- Ability to lift 50 lbs with assistance
- Must be able to work with oils, lubricants, and coolants
