General Purpose of the Job
The clerk typist is responsible for the day-to-day typing, filing, computer input, and any other clerical duties needed by the department to whom they are assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the general department filing, typing of memos and forms, computer data entry (Word Processing knowledge), office phones, receptionist substituting when necessary.
- Disperses mail, and tracks reports.
- Assists in the organization of parent packets.
- Sets up team meeting schedule between parents and staff. Updates staff of all changes in schedule.
- Monitors classroom attendance and posts to departments.
- Establishes effective working relationships with co-workers.
- Posts and tracks data relative to IFSP/IEP information.
- Checks vouchers, applications and other forms for accuracy.
- Answers routine questions regarding education procedures in response to inquiries by staff, parents, via telephone.
- Interprets various computer programs with training.
- Responsible for submitting purchase orders and receiving items. Ensures all packing information is sent to purchasing once the items are received.
- Performs other clerical duties as assigned by the Confidential Secretary or designee.
- Some knowledge of business English, spelling, etc.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and some related experience and/or training.
Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.
Salary : $21 - $25
