Department Summary

The Office of Civil Rights is dedicated to promoting a campus environment where all students, staff, faculty, and administrators can learn, work, and thrive free from discrimination, harassment, in accordance with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, Title VI, and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and related state law and university policy. The Civil Rights Office responds to reports of harassment, discrimination, and related retaliation based on protected characteristics including race, color, national or ethnic origin, ancestry, religion, sex, gender, gender expression, gender identity, gender transition status, pregnancy, physical or mental disability, medical condition (cancer-related or genetic characteristics), genetic information (including family medical history), marital status, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, and veteran or military status (“Discrimination”). The office provides supportive measures, explains reporting options, and oversees and manages a fair and equitable complaint and resolution process for all parties involved in a complaint of Discrimination. In addition to responding to reports of Discrimination, the Civil Rights Office plays a key role in prevention and education. We offer training, workshops, and resources to build awareness, reduce risks, and strengthen UCLA’s culture of respect, safety, and accountability. Position Summary

Join UCLA's Civil Rights Office and play a vital role in advancing a campus culture built on equity, inclusion, and accountability. As an Administrative Analyst, you'll provide critical operational and administrative support that enables the office to effectively address matters related to civil rights, discrimination prevention, and compliance with federal and state laws and University policies.

In this dynamic role, you'll coordinate projects, analyze and improve business processes, manage complex administrative functions, and collaborate with colleagues across the university to support meaningful initiatives that impact the UCLA community. Your organizational expertise, analytical thinking, and commitment to exceptional service will help ensure the office operates efficiently while supporting a respectful and inclusive environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Salary & Compensation

  • UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common. Qualifications

  • 5 Microsoft Office Suite Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. (Required)
  • Demonstrate skill with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, to prepare business correspondence, presentations, and spreadsheets. (Required)
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and follow through on projects with minimal direction to make independent judgments and decisions, and to discern when action of a higher level is required. (Required)
  • Knowledge of budgeting, financial analysis, accounting principles, and resource management. (Required)
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to evaluate complex information and develop practical recommendations. (Required)
  • Effective project management skills, including planning, coordination, scheduling, and monitoring multiple concurrent projects. (Required)
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment, demonstrating exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to effectively work with staff of all levels, clients, and other campus and University personnel. (Required)
  • Incumbent must be able to recognize and appropriately handle highly confidential material with tact and sensitivity. (Required)
  • Excellent written communication skills for preparing reports, policies, procedures, executive summaries, and professional correspondence. (Required)
  • Ability to multitask and set priorities with the ability to switch from one activity or role to another and to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate. (Required)
  • Demonstrated ability to employ good listening skills, tact, and diplomacy in handling irate and/or emotionally upset staff or visitors. (Required)
  • Demonstrated ability and skill to establish and realign competing priorities to meet several reporting and financial deadlines and to act effectively under time constraints. (Required)
  • Strong oral communication skills to obtain and present information clearly. (Required)

Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations

  • Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training (Required)
