Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Practice Manager role based in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area. The Practice Manager oversees daily operations of one or more outpatient clinics, including patient scheduling, front-office workflows, and coordination of clinical support activities to ensure efficient, patient-centered service. This role manages and develops staff, including hiring, training, performance feedback, and scheduling, while fostering a respectful, inclusive work environment. The Practice Manager monitors operational metrics, patient access, and service quality, and partners with clinical leaders to improve workflows, patient experience, and safety. Responsibilities also include budgeting and financial oversight, resource allocation, compliance with UCLA Health policies and regulatory requirements, and implementation of process improvements and organizational initiatives. The Practice Manager collaborates with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other departments to support strategic goals and address operational issues as they arise.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in ambulatory practice or clinic management, including supervision of administrative and/or clinical support staff.
- Strong operational skills in scheduling, patient flow management, and optimizing front- and back-office processes.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR), practice management systems, and basic productivity and reporting tools.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and support revenue cycle processes such as registration, billing, and collections.
- Excellent leadership, team-building, and conflict-resolution skills, with a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for interacting with patients, staff, clinicians, and organizational leadership.
- Strong problem-solving, prioritization, and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical environment.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations, compliance standards, and patient privacy requirements (e.g., HIPAA, Joint Commission expectations).
