Description

The Aligning Research to Impact Autism (ARIA) initiative is

establishing the IMPACT Network, an international research network advancing

clinical trial readiness for profound autism and genetically defined

neurodevelopmental disorders. The Clinical Coordinating Center, based jointly

at UCLA/CHLA and Boston Children's Hospital, seeks a Community Outreach

Director to lead engagement with patients, families, and advocacy partners. The

Director will define the network's community engagement strategy, build

partnerships with patient advocacy groups and community organizations, guide

recruitment and study materials, ensure all outreach aligns with the

IRB-approved protocol and Good Clinical Practice, and supervise the Community

Outreach Coordinator. The ideal candidate holds an advanced degree or

equivalent experience and brings a strong record of community engagement or

patient advocacy leadership in a research or clinical setting.

Salary Range: $74,445.00 - $152,460.00 Annually

Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor’s Degree or 4-5 years of experience or equivalent

combination of education and experience. Ability to work independently and also have interpersonal

skills to work with teams. Exceptional writing skills to produce wide range of

documents and deliverables. Experience communicating effectively and professionally and

working with a variety of internal and external partners, including UCLA

administrators, outside funders, policy makers and community representatives. Strong organizational skills to successfully work on and

track complex programs involving short deadlines and multiple tasks, in

coordination with multiple teams to achieve program/project mission and goals. Working knowledge of program/project development,

evaluation, creating datasets, financial management and reporting, research

principles including CITI training, grant writing and proposal submission,

University procedures and policies, program/project related federal and state

regulations.    Ability to seek out and learn new policies, procedures, and

software to advance the mission of the program/project. Ability to train new program/project managers and other

staff within and external to the unit.

 

Preferred:

Master’s degree or 2-3 years of experience.

$74445-152460 Annually Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (flexiblity required)
