Position Title: Shipping/Receiving Associate FLSA: Non-exempt
Reports To: Logistics Coordinator
Scope: Responsible for assisting with and performing duties related to Shipping and Receiving.
Essential Receiving Duties:
Ensure that all incoming materials, ingredients, and primary packaging and labels meet requirements and expectations. Obtain bill of lading and packing slip for all incoming packages.
Quarantine all incoming materials to put on hold for pending QC approval.
Compare the packing list and certificate of analysis to verify received product quantities and identity. Take steps to obtain the C of A (certificate of analysis) if not received with shipment.
Inspect all materials prior to unloading (receiving). Visually inspect for proper identification, damage, torn bags, crushed boxes or containers, loose shrink wrap, and or broken pallet(s), leaking material, pest infestation or loads shifted on pallet leading to product damage of any sort.
Store and relocate received products to respective holding areas.
Responsible to report any and all, major or minor food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
Promote food safety and quality awareness throughout the organization.
Assist with other projects or duties as assigned.
Essential Shipping Duties:
Print and retrieve "open sales orders", "pick tickets", and/or "on order sales reports" from either the on-line internet site or Company software.
Pick and pack products according to invoices and sales orders. Label all corresponding packages and prep for shipment.
Maintain adequate stock of packing boxes and packing materials for all respective areas.
Maintain an organized, clean work area with an emphasis on safety and maintaining company standards.
