Job Summary
Warehouse Manager - General Function :
Coordinates day-to-day warehouse activities and supervises employees engaged in receiving, transporting, stacking, order filling, shipping and maintaining stock records in the warehouse.
Responsibilities and Duties
Warehouse Manager - General Duties
- Responsible for employee hiring, plans and coordinates work schedules, trains, coaches, disciplinary actions and evaluates employee performance; ensures employees’ ability to safely operate material handling equipment and tools at the work site
- Ensures products, parts or supplies are shipped, distributed, or received in an efficient manner. Takes precautions to secure warehouse contents against loss.
- Maintains storage area by organizing floor space; adhering to storage requirements; recommending improvements.Maintains equipment operating correctly by enforcing proper operating instructions; scheduling preventive maintenance and repairs.
- Oversees inventory by scheduling materials to be moved to and from warehouse; coordinating inventory transfers.
- Maintains inventory by conducting physical counts; reconciling variances; inputting data.
- Interface with customers and other company departments to answer questions or solve problems.
Qualifications and Skills
Warehouse Manager - Requirements
- Proven ability to direct and coordinate day-to-day warehouse activates
- Experience and skills in leading and supervising employees
- Effective communication (verbal & written) and interpersonal skills
- Ability to operate a computer and warehouse software systems; proficiency with MS Office products
- Ability to stand for long periods of time; climb ladders, manually handle (carry, lift, push)
objects that may weigh up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to operate a fork lift machine and company vehicles for deliveries
- Must have a valid driver's license with a driving record (MVR) that meets company's requirements.
