Responsible for preparing OR surgical case carts and performing decontamination and sterilization of reprocessable supplies, equipment, and surgical instruments in support of patient care.

The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.

Responsible for preparing OR surgical case carts and performing decontamination and sterilization of reprocessable supplies, equipment, and surgical instruments in support of patient care.
Essential Job Functions
- Performs daily inventory of sterile supplies to ensure appropriate stock levels
- Prepares and assembles instrument and procedural trays for sterilization
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of all work areas
- Operates sterilization equipment including gas and steam sterilizers, cart washers, and sonic washers
- Decontaminates supplies using appropriate methods (washer, sonic cleaner, cart washer, or manual cleaning)
- Prepares OR surgical case carts accurately and efficiently
- Delivers supplies to patient care areas including clinics, nursery, and diagnostic units
- Tracks equipment and instrument trays to maintain accurate inventory
- Prepares and assembles instruments for operating rooms, clinics, and birth rooms
- Prepares linen packs and “special-fold” surgical linens for sterilization
- Delivers equipment as requested per department needs
- Adheres to all department policies and procedures
- Maintains confidentiality of all information
- Participates in training and development to support patient care excellence
- Performs other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to respond effectively to urgent and emergency supply needs
- Ability to stand, walk, lift, and push trays over 20 lbs for extended periods
- One year of experience in central supply or sterile processing
- Previous hospital-based central supply experience
- Job Type/FTE: Full Time
