As a Pharmacy Compliance Assistant, you will be working under the general direction of the regulatory compliance team within the pharmacy department. In compliance with the departmental and hospital policies will work to contribute work relating to compliance with regulatory standards. This individual contributes to the overall compliance through document management, training, cleaning and performing audits of the spaces within the pharmacy department where compounding activities are being completed by pharmacy staff.

UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits. The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position.
The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.

Essential Job Functions
- Assists pharmacy managers with completion of daily assigned tasks related to regulatory compliance
- Performs cleaning duties for various pharmacy department needs, including but not limited to carousels, omnicells, cleanrooms, and central pharmacy areas
- Assists pharmacy managers with completion of audits within their space, and or training and auditing employee processes in order to work towards a constant quality improvement initiative
- Assists in training new employees in their area of work. Mentors new employees as requested
- Completes and passes required annual competencies in a timely fashion. Complies with all departmental, hospital, and regulating agency policies or recommendations. Complies with all state and federal laws regulating their practice
- Performs Environmental Monitoring as needed for cleanroom locations, Performs Aseptic Technique Evaluations for pharmacy technicians and pharmacists as needed
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Bachelor’s or other advanced degree
- Active Illinois Pharmacy Technician License
- Certification as Pharmacy Technician
- Employment within Hospital pharmacy setting, compounding pharmacy setting, retail pharmacy setting
- Role involving document management or regulatory compliance
- Role involving cleaning of healthcare settings according to policy and procedures
- Overseeing the work of others and directing ways to improve
