With a commitment to excellence and diversity the University of California, San Diego Department of Education Studies (EDS) invites applications for the position of Non-Senate Faculty (temporary/part-time lecturer) to teach undergraduate courses as well as courses in the graduate programs during the academic year. Applicants will be selected from this pool for one year as needed; some appointments begin in the fall quarter and others in winter and spring quarters. The number of positions varies from quarter to quarter and may be renewed based on need and performance. Successful applicants may have an opportunity to teach in our Summer Session's course offerings.
EDS is an interdisciplinary department committed to equity and grounded in a close intersection between research and practice. Academic offerings include undergraduate education minors, teaching credential programs in elementary, secondary, and Deaf education, and two doctoral programs. Teaching Responsibilities:
We are seeking outstanding lecturers who can teach/co-teach courses in the department's undergraduate minor/major and advanced degree programs.
Potential undergraduate minor and major courses (excluding 128AB and 129ABC) can be found here (denoted with "EDS" course prefix).

General Duties:
In addition to teaching responsibilities, duties include holding office hours, assigning grades, advising students and preparing course materials.
The position is expected to be in-person and classes will be held on the UC San Diego Campus.

- Master's degree in the field of Education, Social Sciences or Humanities.
- At least six years of strong and demonstrated commitment to furthering equity, diversity and the improvement of public education.
- The successful candidate will have demonstrated excellence in teaching and practice experience in the subject matter field with diverse populations of at least 1 year.
- PhD or EdD in the field of Education, Social Sciences or Humanities
- At least 1 year of university level experience in teaching or mentoring in one of the specializations.
