Position description

The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences within the School of Medicine at UC San Diego is committed to academic excellence within its faculty, staff, and student body.

The Department is seeking to expand its Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) Division through the recruitment of an OB/GYN-MFM physician committed to excellence in clinical care, patient safety, education, and research.

The current division members include nationally recognized leaders of the subspecialty who are dedicated to training the next generation of leaders in MFM. The division practices the full scope of maternal and fetal medicine and engages in basic, translational, and clinical research. Division members provide inpatient and outpatient services at both UCSD campuses (Hillcrest Medical Center and Jacobs Medical Center), as well as consultative services for two regional healthcare systems.

The selected candidate will practice clinical MFM; teach students; train residents and fellows; mentor resident and fellow research projects; and participate in administrative functions of the division, department, and University.

Candidates interested in practicing the full scope of MFM, including labor and delivery, ultrasound, and inpatient and outpatient care for medically complex obstetric patients, are encouraged to apply. We also welcome candidates with interests in innovative approaches to MFM care, trainee education and mentorship, community outreach, expansion of clinical services to neighboring communities, and additional focus areas within MFM, such as fetal medicine or genetics.

The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's background and experience.
