Reporting to the VC-CFO, Information Technology Services (ITS) delivers Enterprise information technology services to the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) under the leadership of the campus Chief Information Officer (CIO). The Advancement Information Services team provides campus-wide Advancement enterprise systems for the UC San Diego community. We strive to consistently deliver quality and reliable information systems that help our campus achieve its administrative goals. Our combined technical resources allow us to build, integrate, host and deliver campus-wide enterprise systems for both our campus and collaboratively with other campuses within the UC system. Additionally the team offers custom integration and application development services, business analysis services and data management services for a variety of departments on the campus.Applies advanced IT professional concepts and campus / medical center / OP objectives to resolve highly complex issues in one or more IT areas of specialization where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Recommends and may select methods, techniques and evaluation criteria to obtain results.

POSITION OVERVIEW

This position is responsible for interfacing with business units and stakeholders to maintain, integrate, enhance and support the delivery of complex, highly integrated information systems supporting fundraising, donor experience and philanthropic processes at the University. As an Information Systems Analyst on the Advancement Information Services team, incumbent will be focused on gathering functional and technical requirements by understanding complex business processes, and designing solutions leveraging multiple commercial off-the-shelf and custom developed solutions. Applies advanced knowledge of advancement data to analyze, guide and advice clients on appropriate technological solutions. This position supports Blackbaud CRM, and related platform systems configuration for the Campus, Med Center and Foundation, provides analysis, performs design work and configuration of UC San Diego Advancements systems. Works with other team members in Blackbaud and related systems configuration, quickly learn each business area, provide analysis, design and configuration to systems to meet the requirements.

As the Service Offering Manager, incumbent will be responsible to oversee the end-to-end delivery of services and other dependent technical functions, develop staff responsible for service delivery, and manage the continuous improvement processes to meet and exceed established service level commitments.

Identifies and solves problems affecting the business solution, analyzes the existing business systems and makes recommendations for improvement. Conducts research, provides references, identifies best practices, produces workflow explanations by creating appropriate documentation.

Collaborate with internal and external customers to translate business requirements and initiatives into successful IT projects. May act as a project manager to manage and analyze highly complex projects. Involved in all steps of the project lifecycle from definition to requirements analysis, testing, and rollout. Works closely with business and technical project managers on large-scale enterprise-wide solutions across UC San Diego, UCSD Health, and the UC system.

QUALIFICATIONS

• In-depth knowledge of various areas of IT. Broad knowledge of the IT environment.

• Advanced skills associated with programming design, modification and implementation. Advanced knowledge of secure software development. Demonstrated ability to create software specifications.

• Demonstrated advanced knowledge, skills and abilities associated with system problem identification and resolution. Knowledge necessary to design, set up, operate and correct malfunctions involving technology systems. Experience in incident response and digital forensics, including data collection, examination and analysis.

• Advanced knowledge of business and process analysis functions. Knowledge of the design, development and application of technology and systems to meet business needs.

• Demonstrated experience with database administration. Advanced knowledge of database management systems and standards. Knowledge relating to highly complex database system design. Advanced database querying and modeling skills working with moderately complex databases. Knowledge of conceptual database design. Skills necessary to develop procedures and standards relating to database management systems. Skills associated with implementing database enhancements that improve performance and reliability of the system at the software, hardware and operating system level.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

  • Job offer is contingent upon satisfactory clearance based on background check results.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $111,300 - $211,100 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $53.30 - $101.10

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
