Position overview
The Warehouse Supervisor will be a working leader of warehouse operations that oversees and ensures efficient daily operations within the warehouse to ensure customer orders and shipping lead times are achieved. This role serves as a team member in cross functional teams of internal stakeholders by participating in the coordination of Logistics, & Safety within the facility; and serves as an active team member in developing and implementing process and productivity improvement within the facility.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Monitor work quality to consistently deliver exceptional customer service
- Assist in the determination and development of employees for optimum operations
- In conjunction with the Director of Warehouse Operations, manage the hiring, orientating, evaluation, and development of staff
- Develop and execute positive reinforcements to create good behaviors in team members or negative reinforcements up to and including termination
- Develop and assess appropriate procedures for processing orders, with a focus on high quality work processes to meet customer needs
- Establish and monitor the daily schedule and priorities to ensure priorities are adhered to and resources are utilized properly
- Ensure accuracy, housekeeping, product damage minimization and safety through monitoring and enforcement of company policy and process requirements
- Complete other duties as assigned by the Director of Warehouse Operations
Skills and Requirements
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED
- 5 years of experience working in a warehouse environment with at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Previous Forklift Operator Experience
- Warehousing or Third-Party Logistics (3PL) experience
- This job requires the ability to:
- Lift objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights
- Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time
- Reach (including above your head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat and kneel
- Handle or manage tools or equipment
- Tolerate hot or cold warehouse environments
- Prior experience with software applications including WMS, YMS, Billing Management, Labor Management. preferred.
- Experience with Data Collection, Metrics, and KPI’s
- Previous experience with a WMS required.
- Ability to work independently required.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and computerized scanner equipment
- Availability to work a flexible schedule as needed, including planned and unplanned overtime, which may include weekends as dictated by business needs
- Ability to manage the daily operations of scheduled inbound/outbound freight.
- Ability to Supervise a team and provide training and coaching to improve performance.
- Ability to manage the implementation of operational policies, programs, and systems.
- Ability to apply basic to intermediate computer skills to complete reporting requirements in multiple software applications.
- Ability to Implement continuous improvement action plans
- Experience in troubleshooting within the given area of responsibility.
- Ability to implement process improvements and productivity improvements within the operation.
- Ability to effectively lead multiple teams and collaborate with other Supervisors and departments
Pay: $55,000 - $65,000 annually
Shift: 2nd (12:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.)
