Under the direction of the Engagement Manager, the Access Project Manager for the Patient Contact Center (PCC) is responsible for facilitating organizational readiness and driving adoption/integration of technical innovation and strategic initiatives within Ambulatory Operations and the Patient Contact Center (PCC). This position will manage the project management needs for small to large technical and operational projects including definition, design, communication, and implementation of projects; manage all aspects of the project life cycle; and ensure that activities are carried out in accordance with established enterprise decisions, schedules, and resources; coordinate interdepartmental functions while aligning with UCDH policies, procedures, budget, and timeline. The Project Manager will meet with the project team, PCC leadership, and Ambulatory Leadership on a regular basis to review project status and strategy. The incumbent will develop, communicate, and execute high value strategic initiatives, and advance and mature digital/telehealth modalities within the ambulatory care setting.
Key responsibilities of this position include advanced technical and operational project management, effective communication skills; comprehensive business and systems analysis; research and development including recommendations for prioritization of projects based on complexity and impact with on-going management of technology and ambulatory initiatives. Involves managing customer-facing and internal department technical and operational projects having a defined beginning and end. Manages the project’s framework processes and methodologies involving departmental or cross-functional teams. Plans, coordinates and monitors scope, requirements, schedules, resources, tasks, risks, staff and deliverables. Monitors the project from initiation through completion.

Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in related area and/or equivalent experience or training required.
- Minimum of an associate of arts degree is required.
- PMP Certification or equivalent combination of education and project management training required.
- The successful candidate must be able to meet PMP certification qualifications within one year of hire.
- Advanced organization and project management skills.
- Experience leading medium to large-scale EHR/Healthcare IT projects.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate critical information across disciplines and understand how projects relate to other technology-related strategies and initiatives.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to express ideas assertively yet respectfully, professionally, clearly, and concisely both orally and in writing.
- Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in dealing with others to secure necessary information and cooperation from a variety of people.
- Strong organizational skills that provide planning, coordination, and direction to stakeholders, including medical and technology professionals, and executive-level management.
- Knowledge of computers and software tools, including word processing, spreadsheet, data base, clinical information systems, electronic medical records, billing systems, and other application packages.
- Ability to independently initiate, design and lead complex projects of broad and diverse scope, size, impact, budget and project team size.
- Ability to function with a high degree of autonomy.
- Ability to understand and implement the requirements of providing patient care within a highly regulated and constantly changing environment.
- Ability to assess ambulatory practice needs for information technology products and design services to meet those needs.
- Ability to direct and motivate others. Planning, problem-solving and critical thinking skills to anticipate, avert or resolve issues.
- Ability to identify potential obstacles and plan for contingencies to ensure project success.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP Certification

- Experience leading large-scale IT projects.
- Experience in managing projects on the ambulatory/ outpatient setting within an EPIC system.
- Epic Cadence, Orders, or Ambulatory Core Certification.
- Extensive knowledge of technology-related initiatives and understanding of their impact.
- High degree of knowledge and recognized technical and operational expertise.
- Ability to independently initiate, design and lead complex projects of broad and diverse scope, size, impact, budget, and project team size.
- Analytical skills to effectively understand large amounts of complex technical, medical, administrative, and fiscal information, and ability to
- absorb such information to make timely and thoughtful decisions.

Department Description
The UC Davis Health Patient Contact Center is a developing service area tasked with providing the highest possible levels of patient / customer service to consumers seeking services or information within the health system. Contacts will be related to, but not limited to scheduling appointments and associated activities (registration, insurance verification, etc.), facilitating communication between patients and physicians, between physicians and other providers, and assisting with any questions consumers may have.
