Location: Various schools within Portland School District
Pay: $35/1.5hr
About Us
Ubuntu Basketball collaborate closely with schools districts to provide SEL (social emotional leaning) through fun physical activities during lunch recess and after school programs. Our curriculum offers enrichment activities and promote mental and physical well being for kids in grades 5-8.

Responsibilities
- Motivate 5-8 grade students through social-emotional learning and teach our basketball focused curriculum
- Ensure student safety during outdoor and indoor activities
- Lead drills, games, and basketball scrimmages.
- Assist with homework and snack distribution.
- Effectively manage student behavior (up to 15 students)
- Serve as a positive real model to the students to build students self-esteem
- Embrace professional development and work effectively with school staff and Ubuntu Basketball
- Ensure sports equipments safety
Qualifications
- Have knowledge of basic basketball fundamental skills
- Candidate must have a background in sports and passion about physical activity
- Have experience working with elementary or middle school kids
- 1 years of working experience in education, coaching, child development or any other child focused experience.
Additional requirements
- Must be eligible to work in the United States, complete and pass a background check.
- Must have a reliable transportation
- Willing to follow COVID-19 protocols outlined by the school.
- Candidate must be over the age of 18
