About the Role
Uber Freight is seeking experienced customer service and logistics professionals with strong backgrounds in Transportation, Supply Chain, or Logistics. In this role, you will manage and coordinate key transportation functions to ensure products are delivered accurately, on time, and using the most efficient and cost-effective methods. You will contribute to operational excellence and help drive a high-quality service experience.
This position follows a hybrid schedule based out of our Newport, KY Center of Excellence: on-site Tuesday–Thursday, with Monday and Friday as work-from-home days. All interviews for this role will be conducted on-site at the Newport, KY COE.
What The Candidate Will Do
- Use the Transportation Management System (TMS) to its fullest potential in order to facilitate the life cycle of an order, including load building, tendering, etc.
- Exceed customer on time pick-up and delivery expectations
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with carriers to meet customer expectations
- Effective and timely freight coverage and carrier selection through systemic routing guide and spot shipments including rate negotiation
- Leverage TMS to effectively route and consolidate orders considering best cost and transit options for all transportation modes
- Monitoring and resolving shipment data errors
- Proactive analysis to prevent service failures
- Proactively develop and recommend service improvement programs in support of the transportation strategy
- Professional and timely communications and inquiry responses with shippers and receivers
- Identify patterns with shipper, receiver, and carrier performance, and recommend actions for improvement
- Resolve carrier invoice discrepancies in TMS financials
- Train new customer and vendor users on the TMS, demonstrating knowledge of customer business practices and workflow
- Document and execute customer’s standard operating procedures
- Leverage knowledge and understanding of equipment, markets, and shipment requirements
- Act as intermediary in problem resolution between accounts and carriers
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 2 years of relevant experience in the transportation or logistics industry (a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or a related field may be considered in lieu of experience)
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Transportation Logistics or Supply Chain Management
- 3 years of experience in transportation/logistics
- Basic understanding of BI and Tableau reporting
- Advance proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Tools
