Sr Technical Program Manager , Uber AI Solutions

About The Role

Uber AI Solutions Team is a team within Uber whose mission is to build a Digital Marketplace of choice for enterprises and experts for getting digital tasks of varying complexity completed with industry leading quality, cost and speed.

What The Candidate Will Do

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex, high-impact technical programs - from initial concept through launch and ongoing iteration - with a focus on Uber AI Solutions Systems
• Partner closely with Engineering, Product, Data Science, Legal, Business Development and Compliance teams to design and implement scalable, secure, and compliant solutions that meet both the needs of the demand clients and supply resources of the digital marketplace to complete digital tasks
• Proactively identify risks, bottlenecks, and dependencies; resolve issues before they impact timelines or quality of delivery.
• Drive cross-functional strategic planning processes, including defining program scope, aligning on priorities, managing resources, and communicating tradeoffs to stakeholders.
• Establish clear success metrics and tracking mechanisms to ensure programs deliver measurable business value.
• Act as a central point of coordination across global and regional teams, aligning efforts and ensuring consistent execution across multiple work streams.
• Champion operational excellence by continuously improving program delivery frameworks, communication channels, and team collaboration models.
  
  

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience as a Technical Program Manager or Engineering Manager in software or systems development.
• Proven success in managing end-to-end delivery of technical programs in the payments or financial technology domain.
• Strong technical acumen and problem solving skills, with experience in distributed systems and micro services architectures.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence diverse stakeholders and drive alignment.
• Mastery of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) and tools.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proven track record of launching products ideally for AI systems and Solutions requiring ML Ops experience.
• Deep understanding of the AI/ML pipeline, including working with AI datasets, data ingestion, model training, and deployment.
• Expertise in data preparation techniques, specifically data labeling and video tagging for training data sets.
• Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills; adept at defining and tracking program KPIs, especially related to model performance and data quality.
• Demonstrated ability to lead large, cross-functional initiatives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments, collaborating closely with Data Scientists and ML Engineers.
• Skilled in strategic planning, resource allocation (including computational and data resources), risk management (e.g., model drift), and stakeholder coordination.
• Exceptional multitasking and prioritization abilities across concurrent projects.
  
  

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$180,000 per year - USD$200,000 per year. For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$180,000 per year - USD$200,000 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
