Software Engineer II, Fullstack

About The Role

The Mobility Simulation & Planning (MSP) Platform team builds the systems that power pricing and incentive budget planning across Uber's global marketplace. As part of this team, you'll design and scale the core platform that drives billions in marketplace spend decisions, directly influencing rider affordability and driver earnings. You'll collaborate with Product, Science, and Operations to solve complex technical challenges offering you a unique opportunity to grow as a software engineer while making a measurable business impact at global scale.

What You'll Do

• Design and build next-generation tools that power and visualize investment decisions, enabling smarter, data-driven strategies across the business.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, and Operations teams to deliver scalable systems and intuitive user experiences that drive business impact.
• Solve complex technical challenges in web services and distributed systems, ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability at global scale.
  
  

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• 1 years of hands-on software engineering experience
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript or a general-purpose language such as Java or Go
• Experience developing web applications using frameworks like React or Node.js
• Familiarity with microservices and API design
• Passion for building performant, user-focused web applications
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in full-stack development
• Proven ability to build scalable, reliable web services and distributed systems
• Strong understanding of HTTP/REST/GraphQL, and experience with gRPC or Protobuf
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern ES6 frameworks
• Experience creating intuitive user interfaces and engaging user experiences
• Familiarity with static type systems and modern web development best practices
  
  

For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$167,000 per year - USD$185,500 per year. For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$167,000 per year - USD$185,500 per year. For Seattle, WA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$167,000 per year - USD$185,500 per year. For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$167,000 per year - USD$185,500 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
