About The Role
The Customs Brokerage Billing Agent is responsible for the timely and accurate billing of customs brokerage services while ensuring compliance with customer billing requirements, customs regulations, and company policies. This role works closely with customs operations, finance, and customers to resolve billing discrepancies, maintain accurate records, and ensure all billable services are invoiced correctly and within established service level agreements.

About The Role
The Customs Brokerage Billing Agent is responsible for the timely and accurate billing of customs brokerage services while ensuring compliance with customer billing requirements, customs regulations, and company policies. This role works closely with customs operations, finance, and customers to resolve billing discrepancies, maintain accurate records, and ensure all billable services are invoiced correctly and within established service level agreements.
What The Candidate Will Do
- Review completed customs entries to ensure all brokerage services, duties, fees, and service charges are billed accurately.
- Manage exceptions from daily feed to USAC billing systems.
- Ensure customer invoices are in accordance with customer rates and customer specific billing requirements.
- Verify customs entry data, invoices, vendor charges, and supporting documentation prior to billing.
- Research and resolve billing discrepancies by coordinating with operations, accounting, and customers.
- Ensure compliance with record keeping requirements.
- Monitor daily billing queues to ensure invoices are processed within established turnaround times.
- Ensure all customs related charges, including duties, fees.
- Process billing adjustments, credit memos, and rebills as required.
- Maintain accurate billing records and supporting documentation for audit purposes.
- Identify opportunities to improve billing accuracy, reduce revenue leakage, and streamline billing processes.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist with implementation of new billing procedures or system enhancements.
- Create monthly revenue reports for all US Customs activities by type and by customer.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic understanding of U.S. customs brokerage processes
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and accuracy alongside excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively
- Proficiency with Google Platform (Sheets, Docs, Slides, Chat, Calendar, etc…)
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Fluent in English and Spanish, with excellent communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field
- Knowledge of duties, rate sheets, and basic accounting
- Experience working with customer-specific billing requirements
