Drone Flight Instructor // Atlanta, GA
Founded in 2014, UAV Coach is one of the leading drone training companies in the U.S., with over 400,000 people trained. We teach individuals, teams and enterprise customers how to operate drones safely and legally via in-person and online training. Our Part 107 test prep course, Drone Pilot Ground School, has trained 85,000 people and is highly regarded in the industry. Our team of 40 flight instructors conducts training in major cities nationwide. We’re a family-run company that values integrity, a growth mindset and a can-do attitude.
We're looking for experienced drone pilots who love to teach. If you want to help new pilots fly safely and confidently, and earn extra income on a flexible schedule, we'd like to hear from you.
What You'll Do
In this role, you will provide industry-leading instruction, student mentorship, guidance, and expertise on the theory and practice of drone flight. Our students are usually adults seeking to sharpen their flying and real-world operational skills.
You'll lead private, in-person flight classes for 1–3 students at outdoor locations you choose in your area. Classes run 2–3 hours, and our instructors typically teach a few classes a month.
- Teach from our lesson plan and instructor handbook, with a focus on safety and FAA regulations
- Tailor the instruction to the skill level of the student with the goal of building confidence
- Coach hands-on flying, flight software, intelligent flight modes, and emergency procedures
- Keep your online calendar current [Google preferred] and linked to our class booking software so students can seamlessly schedule time with you
- Watch the weather and reschedule students when needed
This is a part-time, independent contractor role. It isn't a train-on-the-job position: we're looking for pilots who already fly confidently and can confidently teach others.
