Summary of Job Duties:

We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team in Batesville, AR. This role involves close collaboration with Resident Physicians and other clinical staff to ensure exceptional patient care and efficient clinic operations. The LPN will assist with patient preparation, clinical procedures, and administrative tasks, all while maintaining a patient-centered approach. This position must be able to perform all duties of the Licensed Practical Nurse and perform other duties to support the patient care activities as needed.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School, GED, or formal educational equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse program.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing.
• One (1) year of work experience in clinical nursing
• Current Arkansas Licensed Practical Nurse license
• Current CPR certification

Key Responsibilities:

• Direct patient care within the limits of the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Arkansas, UAMS policies, procedures, and standards.
• Accountable for adhering to UAMS care guidelines.
• Observe patients, charting, and reporting changes in patients’ conditions.
• Provide basic care and treatment of patients.
• Administer prescribed medications and start intravenous fluids.
• Measure and record the patient’s vital signs.
• Assist patients in standing, walking, bathing, dressing, and moving in bed.
• Supervise nurses’ aides and assistants.
• Answer the patient’s call and determine how to assist them.
• Collect samples such as blood, urine, and sputum from patients and perform routine laboratory tests on samples.
• Clean rooms and make beds.
• Inventory and requisition supplies and instruments.
• Record food and fluid intake and output.
