What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN - Registered Nurse - PACU/Recovery - Ambulatory Services - Days position at UAB St. Vincent's?
Position Overview:
- Department: One Nineteen ASC, Surgery center
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 4 days a week, 8 hour shift between 5am - 5pm. No nights, weekends, or holidays.
- Work Location: UAB Medicine St. Vincent's One Nineteen

Provide direct nursing care for anesthetized patients in the immediate post-operative or post-procedural period.
- Follow aseptic sterile technique according to Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses / American Society of Peri Anesthesia Nurses (AORN/ASPAN) standards.
- Evaluate patient's responses to treatments and interventions.
- Manage patient's pain.
- Anticipates case-specific needs based on knowledge of procedure(s) performed and pathophysiology.
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Education:
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing and required professional licensure at time of hire
