What You Will Do
To develop and conduct quality audits related to Medical Records Management.
- Develops quality audits of data and processes related to Integrity of the Medical Record and Medical Records Management across UAB Medicine.
- Assists in the development of efficient, effective audit tools and data models in collaboration with appropriate technical groups, leveraging technology wherever possible.
- Validates audits developed.
- Conducts quality audits of data and processes related to chart scanning of records within an EHR for MRG team members and other UAB Health System locations as needed.
- Compiles and analyzes audit findings. Notes trends and patterns in audit results. Troubleshoots root cause of issues in collaboration with MRG end users.
- Develops summary reports to communicate findings to leadership and others as appropriate.
- Provides education when necessary to UAB staff and MRG leadership.
- Participates in writing/ updating policies and procedures related to chart management auditing.
- Works closely with MRG Manager/Sr Director to assist in improving documentation in the medical record.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What You Will Need
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field and three (3) years of related experience in a medical field required, or 10 years of relevant experience working closely with medical records within an EHR required.
