About the Role:
The Vascular Lab Technologist plays a critical role in the diagnosis and management of patients with vascular diseases by performing specialized non-invasive vascular studies. This position involves operating advanced diagnostic equipment to assess blood flow and detect abnormalities in arteries and veins throughout the body. The technologist collaborates closely with physicians and healthcare teams to provide accurate and timely data that informs treatment decisions. Minimum Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Vascular Technology program or equivalent education.
- Certification as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or equivalent credential (RVS).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Proven experience performing vascular diagnostic procedures in a clinical setting.
- Strong understanding of vascular anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with vascular lab quality assurance and accreditation processes.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and vascular lab reporting software.
- Additional training in arterial and venous duplex imaging techniques.
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform non-invasive vascular diagnostic tests using Ultrasound.
- Prepare and maintain vascular lab equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality before each use.
- Explain procedures to patients, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the testing process.
- Accurately record and analyze test results, documenting findings in patient records for physician review.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to discuss test results and assist in patient care planning.
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory and safety standards related to vascular laboratory operations.
- Participate in continuing education and training to stay current with advancements in vascular technology and techniques.
