About the Role:
The CT/MRI Scan Technologist plays a critical role in the diagnostic imaging process by operating computed tomography (CT) and other radiology equipment to produce high-quality images for medical analysis. This position requires precision and attention to detail to ensure accurate imaging that aids physicians in diagnosing and treating patients effectively. The technician is responsible for preparing patients for scans, explaining procedures to alleviate concerns, and ensuring patient safety throughout the imaging process. Ultimately, this role contributes significantly to patient care by providing essential imaging services that support clinical decision-making.
Shift: Baylor 7am-7pm
Minimum Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program with a focus on CT imaging.
- Certification as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent.
- Current licensure to practice as a Radiologic Technologist in the state of employment.
- Additional certifications in MRI or other imaging modalities.
- Demonstrated knowledge of CT imaging techniques, radiation safety, and patient care standards.
- Basic life support (BLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced certification in CT imaging (ARRT-CT) or equivalent specialized credentials.
- Experience working in a hospital or clinical radiology department.
- Familiarity with Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and Radiology Information System (RIS) software.
- Strong interpersonal skills with experience in patient education and support.
Responsibilities:
- Operate CT scanners and other radiology imaging equipment to capture diagnostic images according to established protocols.
- Prepare and position patients appropriately for imaging procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Review images for quality and clarity, making adjustments as necessary to obtain optimal diagnostic results.
- Maintain detailed patient records and imaging logs in compliance with healthcare regulations and privacy standards.
- Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare teams to discuss imaging results and assist in further diagnostic processes.
- Ensure all imaging equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and functioning according to safety standards.
