The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking a UNIVERSITY REGISTRAR to provide leadership to plan, organize, and maintain the integrity of all the activities related to the University Registrar's office. Develops, implements, and has oversight of student information systems that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of registration and scheduling. Maintains the catalog and associated academic policies on behalf of students, faculty, parents and other constituencies. Develops and administers the department budget. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Master's degree in a related field and five (5) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Preferred skills:
- Administer academic policy in accordance with federal law (FERPA, HIPAA), the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSOC) accrediting guidelines, the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO) guidelines, and the University Catalog.
- Lead, manage, and supervise the Office of the University Registrar and OneStop Student Services, including hiring and supervising staff, managing budgets, and ensuring the responsibilities of the offices are being executed in an efficient, professional, and student-centered manor.
- Ensure that the design and implementation of all academic systems and operations best serve students and the institution. Current systems include Ellucian Banner (SIS and DegreeWorks), Leepfrog CourseLeaf (curriculum, schedule, and catalog management), Xtender, College Scheduler, National Student Clearinghouse, Schedule 25/25 Live.
- Collaborate with faculty, program chairs, department chairs, and deans to ensure the accuracy and integrity of all individual student academic records.
- Support the work of college/school and University-level curriculum committees via University Registrar policies, processes, and systems.
- Serve internally on university committees, councils, and other meetings. Serve externally at professional association meetings, with state/federal education officials, and with other university/corporate partners).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
