Job Title: Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Driver
Job Summary:A Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Driver provides safe, reliable, and timely transportation for individuals who need assistance traveling to and from medical appointments, dialysis, rehabilitation, hospitals, nursing facilities, and other healthcare-related destinations. Drivers ensure passengers receive courteous, compassionate service while following all safety regulations and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely transport ambulatory, wheelchair, and stretcher patients to scheduled medical appointments.
- Assist passengers with entering and exiting the vehicle safely.
- Secure wheelchairs and other mobility devices according to safety standards.
- Maintain punctual pick-up and drop-off times.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Keep vehicles clean, sanitized, and in good working condition.
- Communicate with dispatch regarding trip status, delays, or emergencies.
- Complete trip logs and required documentation accurately.
- Follow HIPAA privacy requirements and maintain passenger confidentiality.
- Provide professional, respectful, and compassionate customer service at all times.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and motor vehicle record checks.
- CPR and First Aid certification (preferred or required by employer).
- Ability to safely assist passengers with mobility needs.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift and assist passengers or mobility equipment in accordance with company policy.
