Responsibilities

• Engage with customers in person and over the phone to understand their project requirements and provide exceptional customer service.
• Assist clients with product selection, including doors, trim, ensuring they find the perfect fit for their project.
• Upsell complementary products such as hardware by identifying additional customer needs and offering suitable solutions.
• Manage account details using POS systems for accurate cash handling, order processing, and inventory tracking.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely stock availability and maintain organized merchandising displays for optimal retail presentation.
• Support marketing initiatives by promoting high-end sales items and participating in promotional events to increase store traffic.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of construction, renovation, interior design trends, and maintenance practices to advise customers confidently.
• Handle customer inquiries professionally across multiple channels while fostering long-term relationships through excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in inside sales, retail sales, or customer service within construction, remodeling, or interior design sectors is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of building materials such as doors, trim, lighting fixtures, CAD software (including SketchUp), and layout design tools.
• Demonstrated negotiation skills with the ability to upsell products effectively while maintaining customer trust.
• Multilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse client bases more effectively.
• Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, retail math, merchandising techniques, and basic math skills for accurate transactions.
• Excellent organizational skills to manage stock levels, product demos, and account management efficiently.
• Effective communication skills in English; additional languages are advantageous for broader customer engagement.
• Knowledge of lighting sales, remodeling processes, maintenance practices, and interior design principles will enhance your success in this role.
