What You’ll Do:
The Talent Acquisition Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring we are hiring the best possible talent for the organization. You’ll join a team that has a deep understanding of how our business operates which allows them to excel in identifying and attracting top talent. - Manage full-cycle recruitment for corporate and operational roles, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, offer management, and onboarding coordination.
- Create unique strategies to identify, attract, and engage with the best talent
- Screen, interview and prepare a candidate slate within an appropriate and consistent timeline
- Effectively communicate U.S. Xpress’ mission and culture to help candidates understand impact and value
- Build and maintain a network of potential candidates through proactive market research and ongoing relationship management
- Effectively partner with stakeholders to manage expectations of managers, solve recruiting issues and act as an advisor throughout the recruiting process
- Focus on providing a great candidate & hiring manager experiences at every opportunity
- Provide timely reporting of key metrics and insights to drive decisions and improve processes
- Maintain knowledge of compensation offerings, benefits, salary structures and variable pay plans for potential candidates
- Promote USX company-wide programs in recruiting, marketing, employee referrals, job positing, background verification and offer negotiations
- Support Talent Acquisition projects and initiatives related to process improvement, employer branding, employee referrals, career fairs, and recruiting operations.
What We’re Looking For:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience required. Equivalent years of experience are defined as one year of professional experience for each year of college requested.
Experience
- 2–3 years of recruiting experience in a corporate or agency environment required.
- Experience managing full cycle recruiting across multiple role types and levels.
- Experience in transportation, logistics, manufacturing, or high-volume recruiting environments preferred.
- Experience partnering directly with hiring managers and leading recruitment strategy discussions.
Skills/Certifications
- Strong understanding of sourcing strategies, Boolean search techniques, and talent market research.
- Experience using ATS platforms such as Cornerstone or similar systems.
- Experience utilizing sourcing tools including LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, ZipRecruiter, and related platforms.
- Strong ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with candidates, hiring managers, and cross-functional partners.
- Ability to manage multiple requisitions and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Strong verbal and written communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Self-motivated with the ability to think both strategically and tactically to solve recruiting challenges.
