As an Emergency Housing Program Coordinator, you will lead daily operations of a housing program serving veterans experiencing homelessness, oversee staff, and ensure high-quality case management, housing placement, and supportive services.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise case managers, counselors, and program staff supporting veterans in emergency housing
- Oversee delivery of case management, housing navigation, mental health support, and supportive services
- Coordinate with VA partners and community organizations to ensure seamless care and housing placement
- Manage program operations, compliance, and documentation in alignment with HUD, VA, and grant requirements
- Oversee HMIS (Homeless Management Information System) data entry, reporting, and program metrics
- Conduct intakes and assessments, identifying needs related to housing, employment, mental health, substance use, and stability
- Support veterans in developing and achieving Individual Housing & Employment Plans (IHEP)
- Monitor client progress and ensure successful transitions to permanent housing
- Prepare and submit weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports on program outcomes
- Facilitate team meetings, trainings, and performance management for staff
- Ensure accurate case files, discharge planning, and program compliance
- Manage program budgets, petty cash, and administrative tasks (timesheets, approvals)
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, or related field
- 2 years of supervisory experience in social services, housing programs, or case management
- Strong knowledge of homeless services, housing programs, and client care coordination
- Experience with HMIS, data tracking, and program reporting
- Ability to manage staff, operations, and compliance in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license and ability to transport clients as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a related field
- LCSW, LMFT, or behavioral health background
- Experience working with veterans, homelessness, mental health, or substance use populations
- Familiarity with HUD-VASH, VA programs, or grant-funded services
