Position Summary

The intern will gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment while working with engineering, maintenance, reliability, and operations teams to complete a defined summer project.
Responsibilities
- Follow all safety requirements and support a safe work environment.
- Collect and analyze equipment, maintenance, production, and reliability data to support engineering decisions.
- Assist with mechanical system troubleshooting, equipment inspections, preventative maintenance initiatives, reliability projects, and continuous improvement activities.
- Work with mechanical, electrical, reliability, maintenance, and operations teams to identify and implement equipment and process improvements.
- Prepare clear reports, technical recommendations, and a final project presentation.
- Participate in intern programming, development activities, and site events.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering field.
- Returning to school after the Summer 2027 internship.
- Strong analytical, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a plant environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Ability to work onsite at the FTSO Fairfield Plant in Fairfield, Alabama.
