Other Duties/ Responsibilities
- Regularly fills in for Administrative Specialists and Permit Issuance Specialist; performs duties including but not limited to: issuing permits, answering phones, sending and receiving emails, processing TranSAAct requests, data entry, issuing Senate plates and placards.
- Fills in for Enforcement Specialists as needed.
- Schedule adjustment may be required
Required Special Skills/ Knowledge
- As part of our hiring process, we may conduct a skills assessment to better understand an applicant’s proficiency in key areas relevant to the role.
- Ability to obtain a Segway operator certification.
- Ability to safely drive vehicles in close confinement with skill and visual acuity.
- Ability to proficiently drive a manual transmission vehicle.
- Ability to communicate effectively with Congressional staff regarding parking of vehicles.
- Knowledge of or ability to learn basic computer skills.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with at least two years licensed driving experience; good driving record.
Working Conditions
- Since this position requires onsite presence in support of the U.S. Senate when in session, this position requires the employee to be available and prepared to work during a lapse, in inclement weather, on holidays, and during late night, overnight, and weekend sessions. In the context of government furloughs, this position is considered excepted.
- Ability to operate moderate to large machinery.

Responsibilities:
Verifies authorization of drivers and vehicles in parking areas under SAA jurisdiction; routinely checks parked vehicles to ensure security compliance with parking rules. Provides customer service to Congressional permit holders. Monitors and patrols parking areas to ensure vehicle security; Reports unusual/suspicious vehicles, persons, or activities to a Lead, Supervisor, and/or Capitol Police. Performs requested vehicle jump starts; AAA trained to unlock vehicles when keys are locked inside. Other duties as assigned.Salary : $26,563
